Rain water is collected from your roof area. It is then passed through a filter system which removes any large pieces of debris, leaves, etc. and then into the underground tank through a calmed inlet designed to stop the disturbance of any sediment in the bottom of the tank. Excess water will pass through a siphoned overflow fitted to the tank to be connected to the storm drain or soakaway.
With the RAIN BOX DUO commercial system we use a dual pump arrangement so that in the event of a pump failure one of the pumps acts as a duty standby.
Inside the tank sits two submersible steel pump which works on demand, ie a tap being used or a toilet flushing. The pump switches on and allows the stored water to flow.
The main objective of the RAIN BOX DUO system is to give priority to the use of rain water over that of the mains water. When the rain water contained in the underground tank is insufficient the RAIN BOX DUO unit passes to the main water supply, thereby ensuring a flow of water at all times.
The RAIN BOX DUO is designed to work on a commercial scale with multiple toilets. We have also incorporated this system into a housing development, using a large storage tank feeding multiple households directly or via header tanks.
There are many different options to consider on a commercial application and Direct Pumps and Tanks will work along side the customer to get the best system to suit their requirements, ie site condition, restrictions and budget.
